Small things like this are an intimate drama set in Ireland in the 1980s. Bill Furlong, a coal dealer played by Cillian Murphy, is a discreet man who lives dedicated to his work and his family. But when he discovers a disturbing reality behind the walls of a local convent – where young women are exploited and mistreated under religious authority – he is forced to confront not only the community but also his own childhood memories.
In a village where everyone is silent and looking away is the norm, Bill will have to decide whether to continue his quiet life or risk his stability to do what is morally right. It is a contained, deep and full of silences that weigh more than a thousand words, about guilt, compassion and the courage to do “small things” that can change everything.
There will be de las Manos kitchen service, to accompany the afternoon with something good for the body too.
We are waiting for you to meet again, watch cinema together and share.
The Casal is once again a meeting place and a meeting place.
